YOUTH OF THE YEAR
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been the premier recognition program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club kids across the nation. Candidates participate in local, state, and regional events each year, and only a handful of teens advance to the finals for the opportunity to become the national teen spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The 2025 St. Joseph County Youth of the Year is... David H!
David was chosen from an outstanding group of finalists, each of whom shared their inspiring stories about how the Club has impacted their lives. He will advance to the Indiana State Youth of the Year competition in Indianapolis on April 11, where he will compete for a scholarship and the opportunity to represent Indiana at the regional level.

"This journey has taken me to Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. I've met mayors, community leaders, governors, members of Congress and celebrities. But the best part about this experience has been competing alongside my passionate and talented peers, who have inspired me to dream bigger than ever before. For us, this is an opportunity not just to showcase what we've achieved, but to work together to create real change. I'm committed to using this platform to empower others and encourage our communities to listen to young people and invest in our potential."
