Summer never looked so good!
We have summer on the brain - and great news to share.

The Indiana Department of Education announced that our Club was selected as the largest recipient of the Expanding What Works grant ($3.75MM), an initiative aimed at expanding access to high-quality summer programming for Hoosier students.
Through this funding, we will be able to run a 5-week summer program at 16 sites across our service area for 2,500 students, at no cost to our local families.
We're teaming up with The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, and the Lavinia Group to extend the successful Indy Summer Learning Labs initiative statewide. This collaboration will enable us to provide engaging reading and math lessons, along with teacher resources, assessments, training, and coaching for facilitators.
The partnership with our local school districts ensures a comprehensive and inclusive approach to summer learning, reaching as many students as possible and providing support for both academic and personal growth.
The program will tackle the summer slide effect while integrating our traditional Club programming — our kids will still be taking field trips, exploring new interests, and going on fun summer adventures!
I applaud lawmakers for their investment in out-of-school time programming. As Sen. Ryan Mishler said in a recent report, “At a time when our state needs to focus on helping students recover from the learning losses of the pandemic—and prepare for the workforce—we must focus on time outside of school just as we focus on the time spent in the classroom.”
It will all kick off on June 10th! More details, including site locations, hours, and registration, will be posted and updated on our website here.
