ABOUT US
A letter from our CEO
2024 has been a year of exciting celebration as the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County marked 50 years of an unwavering commitment to the betterment of our community’s children.
Our journey has been defined by purposeful strides, with this year bringing our biggest stride yet – we expanded into White, Fulton, Cass, and Pulaski Counties, and changed our name to better reflect our entire service area: the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northern Indiana Corridor.
As we expand, our devotion to our youth remains steadfast. Our growth from 5 sites in 2020 to 36 Club sites in 2024 is a testament to our conviction. We've evolved, not just in numbers, but in the essence of our programming. The launch of our academic recovery initiative in August 2021 redefined our Club's purpose. By addressing literacy, math, emotional well-being, and college and workforce readiness, we've widened our impact and enriched our offerings.
Navigating this transformative path came with its share of lessons and hurdles. Today, over 3,200 kids and teens experience the positive influence of our Club programs every day. The progress is tangible – 64% of Club kids have advanced by one or more grade levels in literacy, and 69% in math. All of our Club kids now have access to mental health services, including critical interventions when necessary, and a robust experiential learning and career exploration curriculum.
As we embrace the opportunities of 2024 and beyond, the needs of our community's children remind us of the magnitude of our mission. Our waitlist of more than 800 kids underscores this fact. Our commitment to investing in our people and curriculum is resolute, and community support makes this possible.
We extend our gratitude to all who stand with us. With optimism and determination, we forge ahead. Because Great Futures Start Here.
