Ashley Murray
Ashley's tenure at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County (BGCSJC) spans over a decade, during which she has witnessed the transformative power of mentorship and community support firsthand. Her journey began on November 23, 2009, when she joined the BGCSJC family at the Harrison Primary Site, under the guidance of Lety Stanton-Verduzco. Beginning her career as a Youth Development Professional (YDP), Ashley gradually ascended through various roles, including overseeing the art room, serving as Team Lead, and ultimately leading the charge at Battell Elementary. She has embraced change and grown with the organization as she has taken on more responsibilities through new job titles such as Director of Programming, Area Director, and now Grants Program Manager.
Despite not being a club kid herself, Ashley's passion for the Boys and Girls Club stems from her profound belief in its mission. Her work with the organization has been deeply rewarding, marked by the joy of witnessing children's growth into outstanding individuals. The bonds forged with families and colleagues alike are cherished treasures, reflecting the collaborative spirit that defines her work.
Reflecting on her journey, Ashley is filled with gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. Whether it's organizing activities, offering homework help, or simply being a listening ear, she feels privileged to be part of a community that prioritizes the well-being and development of youth. With unwavering dedication, Ashley remains committed to the Boys and Girls Club mission, knowing that their collective efforts will continue to shape generations to come. She hopes that everyone carries the “once a club kid, always a club kid” mentality in knowing that we will always be a supportive home for those that have gone through this journey with us.
